Frequently Asked Questions

 

  • The complimentary session is a 15-minute video call. Fifteen minutes is a good length of time to gather information to help me evaluate your therapy needs and for both of us to determine fit.

  • Individual sessions are 45 minutes.

    Couples’ sessions are 60 minutes.

    Family sessions are 60 minutes.

    Group sessions are 60 minutes.

  • I offer in-person therapy services at the DC office on Fridays. All other services are online.

  • Yes. Unless you are close to the DC office, all my therapy sessions are conducted via video conferencing.

  • Individual sessions are $145

    Couples’ sessions are $185

    Family sessions are $185

    Group sessions are $80

  • Sessions are typically scheduled to occur one time per week at the same time and day, if possible. Depending on the nature and severity of your concerns, you may need to meet more or less often. Your consistent attendance greatly contributes to a successful outcome.

  • Due to the varying nature and severity of problems and each patient’s individuality, I cannot predict the length of your therapy or guarantee a specific outcome or result.

  • I accept insurance and private pay. If you have a health insurance policy, it will usually provide some coverage for mental health treatment. If you choose to submit to insurance, it is important for you to check with your carrier so that you understand the requirements and limits of your policy for out-patient treatment by an Out-of-Network mental health provider. I will assist by providing you with a billing statement, called a superbill, monthly or after each session. This bill will contain all information required by most insurance carriers for reimbursement.

    Accepted Insurance companies: Blue Cross & BlueShield, Carefirst, Cigna, Humana & Tricare.

  • I offer evening appointments for tele-therapy clients only. The last time slot for evening appointments is 6pm.

  • In order to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please notify me at least 24 hrs. before your appointment. If you do not provide me with at least 24 hours notice in advance, you will be responsible for the full payment for the missed session.
